Welcome
and thank you for visiting.

I know that the first steps towards seeking help can sometimes feel like the biggest ones. I aim to make it as straightforward as possible for you to identify, access, and benefit from the support you need.

I'm a highly experienced practitioner, with 30 years of work in varied settings; helping individuals deal with a wide range of issues including anxiety & stress, feelings of depression, anger, grief, and the trauma resulting from abusive or coercive relationships, either in childhood or more recently. I am interested in the health benefits of spiritual and/or religious practices and in the damaging effects of some religious cultures.

Potential benefits of working with me include an increased ability to manage difficult thoughts and feelings, gaining new insights into yourself and your situation, developing a greater sense of self-acceptance, and a growing capacity for joy in your life. Therapy with me can help you develop your abilities and learn new skills to deal with the difficulties that life inevitably brings, as well as heal wounds from the past that may be holding you back.

As a Person-Centred Experiential Therapist, meeting and responding to you in ways that feel dependable and safe enough for you to helpfully explore your personal stories is centrally important.  I am also informed and stimulated by Psychodynamic theories, the insights of behavioural science, trauma-informed approaches, as well as centuries-old spiritual wisdom from different traditions.
I am interested in the developing knowledge and understanding of human neurodiversity, and also in how issues of power and politics, privilege and deprivation, affect our health and wellbeing.
